    Jiang Yi Goes Offline

Han Yuancheng noticed Jiang Yi’s strange expression and felt a sudden pang in his heart. This person must have some connection to Qiu Rui. I wonder what message he’s here to convey on Qiu Rui’s behalf — could it be bad news?

With that thought, Han Yuancheng no longer dared to hesitate. He went straight to the point and said, “What are your thoughts on the DL2014 project?”

Jiang Yi snapped back to his senses, looked at Han Yuancheng, and found himself at a loss for how to respond.

Han Yuancheng’s question also brought Qiu Rui back to attention. He came to himself and said to Jiang Yi in a low voice, “Communicate with him in writing!”

Although Jiang Yi didn’t understand why, he still called over the waiter and asked for paper and pen.

Jiang Yi glanced sideways at Qiu Rui beside him, waiting for his instructions.

Qiu Rui said, “Tell Cheng Cheng that I’m here with you!”

Jiang Yi paused for a moment. He understood that Qiu Rui trusted Han Yuancheng completely, but he wasn’t sure whether Han Yuancheng would be able to accept something this unbelievable.

As he thought it over, Jiang Yi wrote: Qiu Rui is here with me.

Han Yuancheng had been quietly watching Jiang Yi’s rather odd behavior. When he saw the words on the paper, his eyes went wide and his lips trembled slightly — then he quickly composed himself and looked at Jiang Yi with skepticism.

Jiang Yi gave a shrug toward one side. Qiu Rui let out a soft sigh, his eyes heavy with sorrow.

From the moment they had entered the café and he caught sight of Han Yuancheng, Qiu Rui hadn’t taken his eyes off him — not even when he was speaking to Jiang Yi. Jiang Yi was beside himself with jealousy. His entire insides felt like they’d been soaking in a vat of vinegar — sour and astringent and thoroughly unpleasant. He made up his mind right then and there: no more vinegar for a while.

Swallowing the bitterness, Jiang Yi wrote on the paper: Qiu Rui is right beside me. You just can’t see him.

He looked up when he finished writing. Han Yuancheng was already staring at him like he was looking at some kind of monster.

Jiang Yi raised an eyebrow with a small smile and said, “I know you don’t believe me. A few days ago, I wouldn’t have believed it either. If it were possible, I’d let him tell you himself — but unfortunately, you can’t see him, and you can’t hear him speak.”

Han Yuancheng naturally couldn’t catch the meaning behind Jiang Yi’s words, but his gaze had already grown urgent, his eyes darting around the space surrounding Jiang Yi.

Jiang Yi was still feeling rather pleased with himself — and then, the smile died on his face. Without warning, a chill swept through his entire body. He shuddered involuntarily, and the next second, darkness closed in before his eyes. Everything around him was pitch black. Jiang Yi blinked in a daze, his mind swirling with countless questions.

What the hell is going on? Jiang Yi muttered inwardly.

“Sir, I have no idea what you’re talking about. If all you have to say is this kind of nonsense, then please excuse me — I won’t be staying.”

    Huh!

A voice reached Jiang Yi’s ears, distant and floating as though suspended in the clouds. From the sound of it, it was Han Yuancheng.

Jiang Yi grew even more confused. A question was just about to escape his lips when a voice echoed through his mind.

“Jiang Yi, I’m borrowing your body for a moment!”

It was Qiu Rui speaking. Only then did Jiang Yi understand — it turned out Qiu Rui had taken over his body.

He mulled it over for a moment, then broke into a grin. Did this mean they were now two-in-one, truly merged into a single being?

You’re in me and I’m in you — how poetic!

Left with nothing to do, Jiang Yi let his imagination run wild.

Meanwhile, Han Yuancheng had watched Jiang Yi shudder once, then go completely still and unresponsive to anything said to him. This person must have something wrong with his mind, Han Yuancheng thought. Qiu Rui was lying unconscious back at the Qiu family estate — how could this man possibly claim that Qiu Rui was here with him?

It had to be some kind of prank. And to think he had pinned all his hopes on this madman. Han Yuancheng shot Jiang Yi a disgusted glare, stood up, and made to leave — when he heard Jiang Yi suddenly speak.

    “Wait!”
