Jiang Yi was so furious he nearly passed out from rage. “I told you long ago, the stock market is unpredictable — just dabble in it, don’t put in too much! Why wouldn’t you listen to me?!”

Jiang Mingxuan was filled with regret. Just thinking about how 100,000 yuan had vanished without a trace made her heart ache terribly.

She threw herself down beside Jiang Yi’s legs and said in a faltering voice, “Big bro, please help me! That was the dowry money I saved up through so much hard work!”

Jiang Yi pulled himself free from Jiang Mingxuan and shifted to one side. “Who told you not to listen to me? The money is already gone — I’m not some almighty god. How am I supposed to help you?”

“Big bro, I know you must have a way to help me!”

“I don’t. Go find someone better suited for the job!”

“Xuan Xuan, I warned you long ago. You were the one who ignored my advice!”

Seeing that Jiang Yi was completely unmoved, Jiang Mingxuan grew furious. She sprang up from the floor and pointed at him. “Big bro, since you’re going to be heartless, don’t blame me for being disloyal! Jiang Yi shot Jiang Mingxuan a sideways glance, puzzled. “What made you suddenly want to start trading stocks anyway?”

The joy that had been on Jiang Mingxuan’s face instantly faded. She said in a sullen voice, “Big bro I’m about to lose my job. If that weren’t the case, I wouldn’t have thought about making money in the stock market.”

A chill ran through Jiang Yi’s heart. He turned to glance at Qiu Rui, who stood by the floor-to-ceiling window. Could it be that Jiang Mingxuan’s rambling that day had angered him, and Qiu Rui had asked Han Yuancheng to let her go?

The thought flashed through his mind, but Jiang Yi firmly dismissed it. He believed Qiu Rui was not that petty.

Jiang Mingxuan shot Jiang Yi a fierce glare. “Are you really my big bro? That’s too much!”

Jiang Yi chuckled and poured Jiang Mingxuan a cup of tea.

“Big bro, our chairman is in trouble!” Jiang Mingxuan’s pretty face scrunched into a knot. “Word is he suddenly fell critically ill and became a vegetable. They searched for famous doctors both at home and abroad, and every single one of them said there was nothing that could be done.”
